Africa concert will feature multiple artists. The Mpondas is an African vocal and percussion ensemble. The band consists of a family group with a Tanzanian background living in Finland. Members of the group are Catherine Knuutila Mponda, Deogratius Mponda and Menard Mponda, who leades the group.

Cheick Cissokho is member of senegambian music family rooted to Finland. Male members of the family are educated to professional side of Kora starting from childhood and this tradition has carried on strong and vibrant for the centuries. In Finland Cheick performs as part of different music groups and teaches playing of Kora in private hobby groups, workshops as well as a teacher at Sibelius Academy. At Sommelo Cheick will perform solo and possibly together with Gergely Várkonyi who has practiced and played Kora for 11 years. Gergely has studied under tutelage of Adam and Josh Doughty (Great Brittain), Soundjoulou Cissoko (Guinea), Pa Bobo Jobarteh (Gambia).

Concert will also feature performance by Marjo Smolander, whose African music influences come from Senegal and Mali. Also possibly performing in the concert will be Arnold Chiw

alala and Taito Hoffrén who combine finnish rune singing, kantele and African singing traditions in their performance.
