The folk music skein will be unravelling for the eighth time in 2rd – 6th July 2014!

Kuhmo is the main venue for the Sommelo Festival in the province of Kainuu. The seminars, training courses and the majority of the concerts on the Finnish side will take place there.

A trip to Kuhmo is always a cultural journey, but this applies even more during July than at any other time. You can enjoy the world class conditions of Kuhmo Arts Centre as well as the pure nature and genuine atmosphere of eastern Finland.

The concert public also has the possibility to take a unique cultural trip to the fabulous Viena Karelia; to Uhtua and Haikola, where the concerts will take place on 5th and 6th of July.

You will get the best out of the trip by attending the Sommelo cultural trip, which includes guidance by well-versed guides, accommodation and meals, and concert tickets and transportation to the concert venues. Tours to Russia requires a visa.
