The Ehättävä concert features the freshest possible folk music, as all the pieces are created on the spot through improvisation. The Kotve collective invites the audience on a journey into mental landscapes where presence is both heard and felt.
Kotve is an improvisation collective founded by three folk musicians. Their curiosity for different sounds and soundscapes leads Kotve to stretch the boundaries of string instruments through extended playing techniques, creating interesting timbres entirely acoustically. The musicians share a common ground in folk music, from which they occasionally wander further afield, but sometimes return to familiar rhythms. The collective’s music lives in the moment and is shaped through interaction with the environment.
