In visual artist Anu Välitalo’s open-to-all visual art workshop, participants will draw, paint, and create stencil and pyrography-inspired folk heritage entities and plants on plywood inspired by the 2026 theme “On the Water.” Participants may choose to lend their creations for a few days for the exhibition. The entities and plants created by the participants will form a large living landscape, which will be part of the Sommelon final exhibition in 2026.

Anu Välitalo has designed the visual identity for Sommelon. She previously held the “Birth of Worlds” drawing and sculpture exhibition at Juminkeko. Välitalo draws, creates drawing surfaces from wood, makes animations and illustrations, and teaches art and visual design at universities. She is an amateur musician in a wind orchestra and enjoys combining music and visual art.
