At the Jouhikko Course, we’ll play jouhikkos together at an easy pace. Beginners can join the group play with simple melodies, while more experienced players will have more challenging pieces. Throughout the week, we’ll learn old and new melodies and also engage in improvisation.

Bring your own or borrowed jouhikko to the course. You can inquire about borrowing an instrument from the course organizer. The course will be tuned to D-A-E.

Lassi Logrén is a folk musician who plays the jouhikko as well as the violin and nyckelharpa. His first solo album is set to be released in spring 2024, featuring Logrén’s compositions played on the jouhikko. Logrén also performs in various bands such as Värttinä and Freija.
